Lazos Artísticos New work by Alexandra Blum, Calixto Robles and Marsha Shaw.
JULY 30 – AUGUST 24, 2014
OPENING RECEPTION SATURDAY, AUGUST 2, 7-10 PM
We are pleased to present Lazos Artísticos, an exhibition of new work by Calixto Robles, Alexandra Blum and Marsha Shaw. Lazos translates to “ropes” or “ties,” but used more figuratively it refers to connections and relationships. This exhibition is an opportunity to showcase the work of three artists who have deep roots in the Mission and common bonds through their personal and professional relationships as artists and educators in the community. All are skilled printmakers who incorporate the art of printing into their work, either exclusively or combined with other mediums. Layered and rich in color, the work draws upon familiar and traditional visual language to explore more complex relationships, not only our most immediate ones, but a larger kinship with all sentient beings.
